Thank you very much for your interest in the ministry of Worship/Education at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church. We are excited about the possibility of you sharing and investing your God given talents with us. We are also fervently praying for God to guide us carefully through this process so that we may find the one who He has prepared specifically for us.
Some Things To Know About The Position:
We are looking for a passionate and energetic man called of God, who loves, respects and understands the ultimate concept of worship. This means that it is essential to know that worship isn’t the style of songs we sing, nor a show we perform, but it is the exalting of God above our personal preferences.
The Minister of Worship/Education will be responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating meaningful worship in conjunction with the music and media ministries. This will be done through spending time with the Senior Pastor learning his heart, passion and vision for worship. This will be done through weekly meetings and quality time spent together throughout the week. This position requires you to be open and willing to teach, enlist, mentor, and work well with others. We place a great priority on improving upon an already great choir and are interested in building an orchestra. You will also be required to work closely with and train the media and sound technicians in order to present the best quality worship experience.
The Education responsibilities will be to assist the church program organization in planning, conducting and evaluating comprehensive educational programs and providing leadership in areas such as but not limited to Sunday school, Discipleship and outreach. This will be done by creating an awareness of the need and function of the Sunday School/Discipleship training. You will need to guide in the selection, enlistment, and training of workers. You will help the Senior Pastor implement a Theology Driven Sunday School and life development discipleship classes.

Some Things To Know About Rome:
Shorter Avenue is a medium sized Southern Baptist church located in beautiful Rome Georgia. Rome is a wonderful place to call home. It has the benefits of a larger town with a small town feel. We are located one hour north of Atlanta and one hour south of Chattanooga. We are a regional medical area with two major hospitals and medical clinics. This is a wonderful area to raise your children with great schools and plenty of entertainment.
This church is one who puts a lot of emphasis on its choir. We currently have approximately 20-35 regular members, with potential to grow. We have two accompanist, a pianist and organist, but have currently unused musical talent within the congregation. We need someone who can help develop this talent and be enthusiastically contagious.
This person needs to be called to these areas and have working knowledge of these areas. We are looking for someone who is serious about Gods Word and has a daily quiet time; someone who loves and is passionate about Sunday school and discipleship.
This person needs to be able to work closely with the pastor and the rest of the staff. We are a team and expect to work as one. We conduct staff meetings once a week and expect the staff to attend and participate unless providentially hindered.
